Breckenridge Music Festival Concert: “Swinging At The Summit” Saturday August 14th

The Breckenridge Music Festival is pleased to present “Swinging at the Summit,” sponsored by Robbie and Ted Beaty, on Saturday, August 14 at the Riverwalk Center in Breckenridge.  The magically transformed BMF Big Band Orchestra, along with guest vocalist Jessica Medoff-Bunchman, will be performing works by the loved Glenn Miller, George Gershwin and Cole Porter.  Works from the evening will include, Opus One, Frenesi, A Foggy Day, Tuxedo Juntion, Pennsylvani 6-5000, Sing Sing Sing, East St. Louis Toodle-Oo, I Got Rhythm, Peel Me a Grape, Just One of Those Things, and Tenderly.

Guest Conductor Michael Linville is the Director of Admissions and Coaching Associate with the New World Symphony in Miami Beach and an adjunct faculty member of the North Carolina School of the Arts.  He is a pianist, percussionist, harpist, conductor and arranger and has performed with the San Francisco Symphony, New World Symphony, Honolulu Symphony, Pasadena Symphony and the Florida Philharmonic.  He is also Artistic Coordinator of the New World Percussion Consort, an ensemble that performs contemporary chamber music featuring percussion.  This is Mr. Linville’s fourteenth summer as a member of the Breckenridge Music Festival Orchestra.

Lyric Soprano Jessica Medoff Bunchman is currently making her mark as an admired performer in the classical and cross-over repertoire. Jon Sobel of Blogcritics Magazine wrote, “Jessica Medoff Bunchman was perfectly spectacular…if she doesn’t have a fan club, someone should start one”.  Roles in her operatic repertoire include Judith in Bartok’s Bluebeard’s Castle, Musetta (La Bohéme), Micaela (Carmen), and Hanna Glawari (The Merry Widow).  For her work as the Sorceress in Dido and Aeneas, the New York Times wrote, she sang the role “with an alluring mischievousness”.   An avid cross over performer and recitalist, Mrs. Medoff Bunchman has performed with Symphony and Festival orchestras, including Aspen and Breckenridge, and is the co-creator of two original cabarets. She made her Carnegie Hall oratorio debut in 2007 as Soprano Soloist in the Fauré Requiem.

Put on your dancing shoes and get ready to join Guest Conductor Michael Linville and Soprano Jessica Medoff-Buchman along with the Breckenridge Music Festival Orchestra for an entertaining evening of “Swinging at the Summit” at the Riverwalk Center in Breckenridge, July 30 at 7:30 pm.  For tickets ($25, $30, and $35 Adults, $10 students, $7 juniors) call 970.547.3100 or CLICK HERE to purchase tickets online
