are you going to attend AN HISTORIC HAPPENING - SNOWSHOE STYLE ? No one is attending yet. Yes, I am

Event Description

Iowa Hill in Breckenridge is the historic site of an 1800s hydraulic placer mine, with many interpretive signs along the trail. A number of short side routes can also take you to interesting preserved mining machinery and an old miner’s boarding house. Join local historian and mining expert extraordinaire, Rick Hague, for an easy/ moderate snowshoe up this very historic and educational trail. You’ll be sure to learn so much about our local history and get some good exercise too! Following this outdoor endeavor, a hot and hearty luncheon awaits you by the fireside at the lovely Peak 8 home of your hostess, Olga Correll. Here you’ll be sure to enjoy a plethora of tasty and warm vittles and beverages. Sounds like a perfect way to spend a cold winter’s day.

Please meet (with snowshoes) in the Iowa Hill parking lot at 9:30am. Be sure to bring your own water.
