Turkish Temptations (Revisited..)
Think Istanbul, Ankara, the Black Sea and all the exotic and fragrant cuisine of this fascinating country. This host and hostess extraordinaire enjoyed living in Turkey for a number of years and totally immersed themselves in its culture and cuisine. Now fortunate guests can live their experience vicariously by indulging in a Middle Eastern feast truly fit for royalty. A traditional and elaborate meze (appetizers), followed by an elaborate buffet of traditional fare, will instantly transport you to Istanbul and beyond. “Virtuosic Violin” /Brazil in Breckenridge
Brazilian violinist, Carmelo de los Santos’ performance has been described by the Jornal da Tarde, Sao Paulo, as brilliant and more!
This evening’s concert includes Beethoven’s “Kreutzer” Sonata, Prokofiev’s dazzling D Major Sonata and exceptional music from Brazilian composers, Marlos Nobre and Souza Lima.
The Kreutzer is played especially for Dick Bateman who, with his wife Linda, is responsible for introducing and involving the Center for Excellence in the Arts with CMC Summit and the Breckenridge Music Festival.
Following the concert, the charming Peak 7 home of Geralyn and Jim Smitherman will be the perfect setting for our Post-Concert party. Enjoy an array of wines, cheeses, hors d’oeuvres and desserts and a chance to meet and greet musicians and friends, both old and new.

four hands, two voices, one stunning evening of music
Featuring Jessica Medoff Bunchman, Soprano; Patrick
Mason, Baritone; Michael Bunchman and William Hobbs, Piano
Musicians Jessica and Michael Bunchman return to Summit County, bringing with them classical music collaborators from near and far. Joining the Bunchmans from their adopted home in New York City will be pianist William Hobbs of Washington National Opera, San Francisco Opera and the Aspen Music Festival. And from closer to home in Colorado, distinguished American baritone, Patrick Mason. Grammy nominee Mason is Professor of Voice at The University of Colorado.
Highlights of this light classical concert include selections for "piano four-hands”: duets for two performers at one grand piano, and collaborations by Jessica and Matthew on new works by world class contemporary composer Lowell Liebermann as well as selections from the most beloved classical composers, and favorites from the American Songbook.

It’s all Downhill, Edna! ~~ An Alpine Event with an Historical Bent
Sharpen and wax those alpine skis and be prepared for a very special mind-bending (and historical) downhill experience at beautiful Breckenridge Ski Resort. Geared for intermediate skiers and above, come when the mountain opens (8:30), and get in a few runs of free-skiing on Breck’s impeccably maintained terrain. Then head for Ten Mile Station on Peak 9 where you’ll meet up with local historian and experienced ski guide, Rick Hague. What follows will be an historic ski tour of the area with a focus on Breckenridge’s history as a town. This story will be told as you ski on and learn the history of the various runs ~~ truly an amazing blending of two tales. Following this historic, informative, and scenic ski tour you’ll head through the woods to the warmth of the fireside and beautiful ski in-ski-out Irwin residence. Here a hearty luncheon repast will await all fortunate (and famished) skiers. This event is truly “History in the Making”.

Rib “Throwdown” ~~~ just like famous chef and restaurateur, Bobby Flay does ~~~ he of TV’s The Food Channel fame. The competition will be hot and heavy when “local rib masters”, Jim Merrick and Sherrie Calderini invite you to be the judge of whose ribs win Best of Show and taste too! Armed with scorecards, bibs and plates of delectable, meaty pork, now it’s up to you to tell us who will be the Grand Champion. Of course, there’ll be lots of other goodies to eat, too, and lots of wine and beer to wash it all down with. Be sure to come hungry (and wear loose fitting clothes)! ~~~ All Hail to the Champion!

This program, for lovers of a variety of musical styles, features a broad mix of art song, opera, and musical theater selections.
Illana Davidson performed in the first season of the Calloway Honor Series. Her recording of William Bolcom’s Songs of Innocence and of Experience won four Grammy Awards in 2006, including Best Classical Album.
Krista Rivers has received glowing reviews from many publications, including The New York Times. She is a winner of the 2004 Concert Artists Guild International Competition and is a frequent performer with Boston’s Handel and Haydn Society.
Jason McStoots has been described by critics as “a natural” ~~ “a believable actor and a first-rate singer”, “a born comic” and as having “a silken tenor voice”.

The mud bugs will miraculously appear in Breckenridge country at this authentic Louisiana mud bug (crawfish) boil. Your gracious hosts, Duck and Vince White-Peterutti, and expert mud bug cook, Michael Ramert, can’t wait to introduce you to the joys of eating these delectable little crustaceans. (Michael learned to cook crawfish from his family back home in Louisiana, where crawfish boils are a spring tradition.) Of course, all this tasty down-home fare will be accompanied by a jug of wine or a brewsky or two and lots of other good vittles. Now let’s get “down and dirty” with some live and local Cajun music.
