VIOLINS I
Nathan Olson, Concertmaster
Nathan Olson is a recent graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Music’s prestigious Concertmaster Academy, where he studied with Cleveland Orchestra Concertmaster William Preucil as well as Paul Kantor. Nathan is Concertmaster of the Canton Symphony Orchestra and has performed with the Cleveland Orchestra as a substitute. He has soloed with the Canton Symphony Orchestra, the Breckenridge Music Festival Orchestra, the Cleveland Pops Orchestra, CityMusic Cleveland, and the San Francisco Chamber Orchestra. With the Kashii String Quartet, he served on faculty at the Innsbrook Music Festival and won the silver medal at the 2005 Fischoff International Chamber Music Competition.
Loren Silvertrust
Loren Silvertrust grew up outside of Chicago IL, attended Williams College majoring in Comparative Literature, and Indiana University, in Bloomington, where she earned a Master of Music degree and Performer's Diploma with Alexander Kerr. Loren has performed with the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra, Spoleto Festival USA, Colorado Music Festival, as a member of the Kuttner String Quartet in residence at Indiana University, and with the Youth Orchestra of the Americas. Loren is currently a violinist with the New World Symphony in Miami FL.
Emily Cornelius
Emily Cornelius holds violin performance degrees from Oberlin Conservatory (B.M. ‘05) and from New England Conservatory (M.M. ‘07). Emily is a member of the Canton Symphony Orchestra and the Opera Cleveland Orchestra, and she maintains a large teaching studio at the Fairmount School of Music in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. This is her second summer with the Breckenridge Music Festival.
Ashley Plaut
Ashley Plaut maintains an active performing schedule as an orchestral and chamber musician. Formerly a member of the New World Symphony and the Civic Orchestra of Chicago, she joins the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra as a member of their Second Violin section in September 2009. As a chamber musician, Ashley was a member of the 2003 String Quartet in Residence at the Orford Arts Centre and has collaborated with numerous artists, including members of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Additionally, she has performed as a substitute with Music NOW, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra's contemporary music series. Her teachers include Shmuel Ashkenasi, Yehonatan Berick and Denise Lupien.
Hannah Yim
Hannah Yim is in her fourth season with BMF. She is a member of the Louisiana Philharmonic, and has also performed with the New World Symphony, Louisville Orchestra, and Evansville Philharmonic. She was a frequent performer in the UC Berkeley Wednesday Noon Concert series from 1999 to 2001, has performed in the Lotus World Music Festival in Bloomington, IN, and was a member of the National Repertory Orchestra in 2005 and 2006. Hannah received her Bachelors and Masters degrees from the Jacobs School of Music, Indiana University, under the guidance of Alexander Kerr and Henryk Kowalski.
Elizabeth Phelps
Elizabeth Phelps has been a member of the Canton Symphony Orchestra since 2005. She also plays regularly with the Akron and Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestras, and during the summer of 2008 played with the Grant Park Orchestra in Chicago. She received her Bachelors and Masters degrees in violin performance at the Cleveland Institute of Music where she studied with Paul Kantor and Stephen Rose. Elizabeth is also a member of the recently formed contemporary ensemble “Five-One” based in Cleveland and performs as an avant garde free jazz musician throughout the Cleveland area.
VIOLINS II
Kathryn Hatmaker, Principal Second Violin
Kate Hatmaker is currently a violinist with the San Diego Symphony in addition to being the co-founder and Artistic Director of San Diego’s newest chamber music organization, Art of Élan. Ms. Hatmaker has played with a wide variety of American orchestras, including the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra and the New World Symphony, and has been a featured soloist with the San Diego Symphony and the Breckenridge Music Festival orchestras. She completed her Master of Music at Carnegie Mellon University and her undergraduate training at both the University of Iowa and the Sorbonne University in Paris, France, earning degrees in both Political Science and French.
Jeremy Blanden
Originally from Tampa, FL, Jeremy Blanden earned his B.M. and Artist Diploma in Violin Performance from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, and his M.M. from Rice University. From 2004-05, Jeremy was a member of the Graduate Quartet-in-Residence at Syracuse University, acted as the Visiting Lecturer of Violin and Chamber Music, while performing as a member of the Syracuse Symphony. He has been Concertmaster of the Lebanon Symphony and has performed with the Louisville Orchestra. During 2005-2007 Jeremy was faculty of Violin and Viola at Earlham College in Richmond, IN. He currently performs with the New World Symphony in Miami Beach, FL.
Jeannette Jang
A native of WI, Jeannette Jang holds degrees in music from the University of WI-Madison (B.M. ‘06), and the University of Michigan (M.M. ‘09). A winner of several young artist competitions, she has soloed with the Madison Symphony, Menomonee Falls Symphony, and the UW Symphony. She has participated in such festivals as Tanglewood and the Round Top Festival Institute, and she has served as concertmaster at Spoleto Festival USA. Jeannette was principal second violin of the Fresno Philharmonic (CA), and she has also played with New World Symphony, Madison Symphony, Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra and Sarasota Opera.
Meghan Jones
Meghan Jones is the Assistant Principal Second Violin in the Sarasota Orchestra (FL). She has also been a member of the Charleston Symphony Orchestra, and the New World Symphony. Meghan received a Bachelors degree from Northwestern University, and a Masters from Boston University, both in violin performance. She has been playing with the BMF since 2002.
Colleen McCullough
A native of Kansas, violinist Colleen McCullough currently plays in the first violin section of both the Austin and Waco, TX Symphony Orchestras. In 2008, Colleen won The University of Texas string concerto competition and performed as soloist at the Meyerson Center in Dallas, TX. Ms. McCullough received an undergraduate degree in violin performance from the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, MA, where she completed her studies with Eric Rosenblith. She received a Master of Music degree in performance from The University of Texas at Austin, where she currently is pursuing a DMA in violin performance with Brian Lewis.
Allyson Michal
Allyson Michal, violin, currently lives in Chicago, IL, where she plays with the Civic Orchestra of Chicago. She completed her Bachelor of Music degree at Indiana University, and her Master of Music at Northwestern University. Next fall, Allyson will be returning to her hometown of Cincinnati to attend the Conservatory of Music and begin her doctoral degree. She loves mountains, and excited to return to the Breckenridge Music Festival for a second season.
VIOLAS
Karl Pedersen, Principal Viola
Karl Pedersen received a Bachelor degree at the University of Iowa in violin, before switching to viola and receiving a Master of Music degree at the Peabody Institute under the tutelage of Victoria Chiang and Stephen Wyrczynski of the Philadelphia Orchestra. Karl has performed with many orchestras including the Virginia Symphony, Richmond Symphony, and Cedar Rapids Symphony and at the position of concertmaster with the Ottumwa Symphony and Oskaloosa Symphony. In 2005 and 2006 Karl was awarded the Peabody Development Grant. He currently resides in Miami Beach as a member of the New World Symphony.
Susan Pardue
Susan received a Bachelor’s degree from the North Carolina School for the Arts and her Master’s from the Juilliard School. As a Fulbright Scholar, she studied in Florence with Piero Farulli. Susan is a member of the Jacksonville Symphony and formerly played with the New World Symphony. This is her seventeenth season with the BMF.
Jan-Marie Joyce
Jan-Marie Christy Joyce is in her eighth season as Principal Violist with the Charleston Symphony, where she has appeared frequently as soloist, most recently in Berlioz’ “Harold in Italy”. After earning a Masters degree from Louisiana State University, she completed a Professional Studies Certificate from the Cleveland Institute of Music. Formerly Principal Violist of the Canton Symphony Orchestra, in 2005 Jan-Marie was invited to perform in Seattle Opera's production of Wagner's "Ring des Nibelungen". She is an adjunct faculty member at the College of Charleston, where she teaches viola and coaches chamber music. Ms. Joyce's first CD, chamber music for oboe and strings with members of her family, was released last spring. Jan-Marie also holds a bachelors degree in Trumpet Performance.
Matthew Carrington
Violist Matthew Carrington is a dynamic orchestral performer and chamber musician. Mr. Carrington has worked with members of the Ives and Alexander Quartets as well as Janos Starker, Ik-Hwan Bae and Pamela Frank. He has performed as a member of the Evansville Philharmonic, New World Symphony, Louisiana Philharmonic, and the National Repertory Orchestra. Mr. Carrington received his Bachelors degree from U.C. Santa Cruz where he was a member of the resident string quartet program. He also holds a Masters and Performer Diploma from Indiana University where he studied with Mimi Zweig and Atar Arad.
CELLOS
James Holland, Principal Cello
James Holland has been a member of the BMF orchestra since 1998. He served as Principal Cellist of the Charleston Symphony from 1996-2007. James earned degrees in cello performance from the University of Alabama and the Eastman School of Music. He was a featured soloist last year with the Albuquerque Philharmonic and the contemporary ensemble Chatter. In the past year he has performed with the Santa Fe Symphony, the New Mexico Symphony, the Albuquerque Chamber Soloists and the Bosque Chamber Music Society among others. James and his wife Megan have served as guest clinicians for school strings programs in the Albuquerque area, and are co-directors of the strings program at Sandia Preparatory School.
David Rosen
A native of Los Angeles, California, cellist David Rosen received his Bachelor of Music from The Cleveland Institute of Music, his Master of Music from the Eastman School of Music and his Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Miami. David was a winner of the Coleman Chamber Music Competition in Pasadena, California. He has participated in the music festivals of Aspen, Banff, Blossom, Breckenridge, Chautauqua and Heidelberg. David has performed with the Cincinnati Symphony, San Diego Symphony and the Los Angeles Opera. He was a member of the New Orleans Symphony from 1989-1990 and has been a member of the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra since 1991.
Rebecca Gilmore
Rebecca Gilmore is currently Acting Assistant Principal Cellist with The Virginia Symphony as well as a substitute for Philadelphia, Baltimore and North Carolina Symphonies. Previously she was Principal Cellist of The Greensboro Symphony (NC) where she made her debut performing Tchaikovsky's "Rococo Variations". Her solo cello career has taken her abroad from China to Canada. As a chamber musician, she is co-founder of Ambrosia Quartet, a professional performing ensemble that explores a vast range of repertoire in pursuit of travels and recordings. She has degrees in Cello Performance from Indiana and Rice Universities.
Peter Thomas
Originally from Stevens Point, WI, Peter Thomas was born into a family of musicians. At the University of Minnesota, Thomas received his Bachelors Degree in Music Performance in 2003 and his Masters Degree at the Cleveland Institute of Music in 2005. In May, 2005, Thomas was appointed into the cello section of the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra and dedicated the majority of his time teaching 25 students in the Dayton area. Thomas joined the New World Symphony in Miami, FL in 2007. He was appointed third chair cellist in the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra in October, 2008.
BASSES
Alison Gaines, Principal Bass
Ms. Gaines holds degrees in bass performance from U.S.C., and a D.M.A. in conducting from the University of Kansas, Lawrence. She has worked as principal bassist with the Tulsa Philharmonic and with the St. Louis Symphony as a substitute, has been a concerto soloist the Rockford, IL, National Repertory, Breckenridge Music Festival and the Tulsa Philharmonic orchestras, and a member of the New York String Ensemble and the Spoletto, Italy, Opera Festival. Ms. Gaines studied at the Conductor’s Institutes of South Carolina and Bard, NY and the League of American Orchestra’s Donald Thulean Master Classes. Currently, she lives and free-lances in the Chicago area as both a bassist and conductor, conducts the Rockford Symphony Youth Orchestra and serves as Assistant Conductor of the Elmhurst Symphony.
David Kahn
A member of the Canton and Akron Symphony Orchestras in Ohio, Bassist David Kahn completed his Master of Music Degree in 2007 at Carnegie Mellon University. He received a bachelor degree studying with Orin O’Brien at the Juilliard School. David has toured extensively throughout Europe, playing in such venues as the Mariinsky Theater in St. Petersburg and Royal Albert Hall in London. He has participated in the Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto, Italy and was Principal Bass with the National Repertory Orchestra in 2007. David is originally from the San Francisco area. This is his first summer with BMF.
FLUTES
Helen Blackburn, Principal Flute
Helen Blackburn is principal flutist with the Dallas Opera Orchestra and a member of “Voices of Change.” Ms. Blackburn has been a member and a featured soloist with the South Bohemia and Aspen Music Festivals, the Dallas Chamber Orchestra, the Brevard (NC) Music Center, and the Chicago Civic Orchestra. Ms. Blackburn is adjunct professor of flute at Texas Christian University and the University of North Texas. She received her Bachelor of Music degree (summa cum laude) from West Texas State University and her Master of Music degree from Northwestern University. Helen is a certified Bikram Yoga instructor, an avid dog lover and enjoys hiking and most things outdoors.
Ebonee Thomas
Ebonee Thomas is currently Principal Flute of the Florida Grand Opera. She held a one-year position as Second Flute with the Houston Symphony during their 2003-2004 season and recently completed a four-year fellowship with the New World Symphony. Ebonee is a native of Plano, Texas and is a graduate of Southern Methodist University and the New England Conservatory of Music. She has participated in summer festivals including the International Festival-Institute at Round Top, Aspen Music Festival, National Repertory Orchestra and Spoleto Festival USA.
OBOES
Cathy Weinfield, Principal Oboe
Johanna Cox
Johanna Cox is an Assistant Professor at the University of Oklahoma, and oboist and English horn player with the Oklahoma City Philharmonic. The New York Concert Review stated of her 2005 Carnegie Hall solo debut, “…a solid recital of high standard, excellent musicianship, and a sense of taste and proportion.” A graduate of Northwestern University and the Eastman School of Music, she was chosen for Eastman’s Freiburg Exchange Program, studying in Germany with Heinz Holliger. In 1997, Johanna and twin sister, Lenora, performed the Bach Double Concerto with the National Repertory Orchestra. She can be heard on the CD Gale Force (Albany Records), with the woodwind quintet Prairie Winds.
CLARINETS
Kenneth Krause, Principal Clarinet
Kenneth is a member of the Dallas Opera Orchestra. He is Principal of the Richardson Symphony Orchestra and performs frequently with the Dallas and Fort Worth Symphony Orchestras. He formerly served as Principal of the Dallas Wind Symphony. He has recorded with Anshel Brusilow as a member of the Richardson Symphony, and with Howard Dunn and Frederick Fennel as a member of the Dallas Wind Symphony. Krause holds degrees from Northwestern University and North Texas State University. He returns for his eleventh season at Breckenridge.
John Klinghammer
John Klinghammer is currently 2nd/E-flat Clarinet with the Omaha Symphony and Principal Clarinet with the Des Moines Symphony. A graduate of the University of Oregon, John received his Doctorate from the USC Thornton School of Music, where he studied with Yehuda Gilad. He was Principal Clarinet of the YMF Debut Orchestra of Los Angeles, and performed the Copland Clarinet Concerto with that orchestra. In 2009, John will perform concertos with the Breckenridge Music Festival and the Omaha Symphony. John is adjunct faculty at the College of St Mary’s, and maintains a private studio, which must contend on a regular basis with the strong opinions of his teaching assistant, Sofi the dog.
BASSOONS
Ingrid Hagan, Principal Bassoon
Ingrid is currently a member of the New World Symphony and a graduate of Manhattan School of Music, where she studied with Whitney Crockett. She has performed with the Aspen Music Festival, the National Repertory Orchestra, the Norrkoping Symphony Orchestra in Sweden, and was a member of the Festival Ensemble of Stuttgart where she played principal on a recent recording of Britten's "War Requiem" conducted by Helmut Rilling. She is a winner of the Meg Quigley Vivaldi competition and has been featured on National Public Radio. This is her first season with the Breckenridge Music Festival.
Adam Trussell
Originally from Portland, Maine, Adam Trussell is now playing bassoon in the Omaha Symphony. In addition to playing in the Symphony he is also a founding member of the Orion Trio with clarinetist John Klinghammer and flutist Leslie Fagan. He serves on the faculties of University of Nebraska at Omaha and Creighton University. Adam holds degrees from both Rice University, where he studied with Ben Kamins and New England Conservatory, where he studied with Gregg Henegar and Richard Svoboda.
HORNS
Erin Cooper-Gay, Principal Horn
Erin Cooper-Gay currently lives in Toronto, Canada where she combines a career as a horn player, a vocalist and an educator. A graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Music, she currently performs as utility horn with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra. Erin served as Principal Horn of the Canton and Akron Symphony Orchestras, was a member of IRIS Chamber Orchestra and has performed with the Cleveland Orchestra, the Seattle Symphony, the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra and the National Arts Centre Orchestra. Having participated in the National Repertory Orchestra in 2002, Erin is very happy to be back in Breckenridge with the BMF.
Michael Morrow
Michael Morrow is Associate Professor of Horn at Texas A&M University-Commerce and 2nd Horn of the Dallas Opera Orchestra. He has performed on 7 recordings as a member of the Dallas Wind Symphony including "The Music of Percy Grainger,” released in January 2009, and on the World Premier of Tobias Picker’s opera “Therese Raquin,” as a member of the Dallas Opera Orchestra. Mr. Morrow has performed over eighty different operas with the Dallas Opera orchestra including Wagner’s “Ring” cycle and Alban Berg’s “Wozzeck.” Michael lives in Heath, Texas with his wife, Amanda, an oboist, and their 6 year old daughter. This is Michael’s 20th season with the Breckenridge Music Festival.
Jill Rodriquez
Jill Smith Rodríguez, returning for her thirteenth season with the BMF, is Assistant Principal Horn with the Austin Lyric Opera Orchestra and Adjunct Instructor of Music at Texas Lutheran University. Other performance credits include the Dallas Opera, Austin Symphony, San Antonio Symphony and Ft. Worth Symphony orchestras, and the Victoria Bach Festival. Jill is recorded on the film score for Spy Kids2. She is a graduate of the University of North Texas and DePauw University, and an alumna of Interlochen Center for the Arts and the North Carolina School for the Arts International Music Program. She resides in New Braunfels, TX with her husband, Raúl, and their two children.
Joshua Michal
Joshua Michal grew up on a farm in southern Ohio, where he began his musical studies on horn at the age of 9. Primarily self-taught until college, Josh received a scholarship to study at Indiana University with Michael Hatfield, Michael Hoeltzel and Jeff Nelsen. Josh has spent the past two years performing with the Civic Orchestra of Chicago while completing a Masters degree at Northwestern University with Gail Williams. Among Josh's other interests are cooking, biking and spending time with his lovely wife, Allyson, and his evil cat.
TRUMPETS
Timothy McFadden, Principal Trumpet
Timothy McFadden earned his Bachelor of Music from Duquesne University before doing graduate work at Bowling Green State University. Tim is currently principal trumpet with the Tulsa Symphony, and is also Orchestra Manager. In addition, Tim is principal trumpet with the Tulsa Opera Orchestra. Tim was a featured soloist on all of the Tulsa Philharmonic’s series. For the past six years, Tim has served as principal trumpet for the Breckenridge Music Festival. Tim has been a featured soloist at BMF as well, performing the Haydn and Hummel Trumpet Concertos, and Bach’s Second Brandenburg Concerto.
Steve Haefner
Steve Haefner received his early training from Richard Metzger, Principal Trumpet of the Milwaukee Symphony, and studied with Charles E Geyer at the Eastman School of Music. He has lived in the Tulsa area since joining the Tulsa Philharmonic in 1988 as 2nd Trumpet. He is Principal Trumpet with the Oklahoma Light Opera Festival orchestra, Trumpet Instructor at Oral Roberts University and performs with the Tulsa Opera Orchestra, Bravo Brass and Light Opera Oklahoma Festival. He has been a substitute player with the Milwaukee and Honolulu Symphony orchestras, as well as Principal Trumpet for Breckenridge Music Festival Orchestra. He frequently appears as a lecture / recitalist with the Oklahoma and Green Country Organ Guilds.
Michael Zonshine
Mike Zonshine, native of Southern California, is currently on leave as Principal Trumpet of the Honolulu Symphony. A graduate of Boston University, Zonshine is completing a Masters of Music Performance degree, begun at the Eastman School of Music, at the University of Southern California. Mike's principal teachers are Boyde Hood (Los Angeles Philharmonic), Roger Voisin and Tom Rolfs (Principals, Boston Symphony) James Thompson (Principal, Montreal and Atlanta Symphonies; Professor, Eastman), and Malcolm McNab (Los Angeles Studio Musician). As a teacher, Mike was co-founder of the University of Hawaii Trumpet Ensemble, and Brass Coach of the Boston University Tanglewood Institute's Young Artists' Orchestra. Mike Zonshine is a Yamaha Performing Artist and Clinician.
TROMBONES
John Allen, Principal Trombone
Currently Principal Trombonist of the Oklahoma City Philharmonic and on the faculty of Oklahoma City University, John Allen has been Bass Trombonist of the Tulsa Symphony Orchestra, and a frequent substitute with the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra. John has toured and recorded with the Glenn Miller Orchestra and was solo trombonist for a season with the versatile sextet, Rhythm & Brass. He is a founding member of Dallas-based Orion Brass, a septet that is in the process of creating a new repertoire for seven virtuoso brass players. Mr. Allen has held faculty positions at Howard Payne, East Texas Baptist and Texas Wesleyan universities, and at the Oklahoma Summer Arts Institute at Quartz Mountain since 2003.
Jemmie Robertson
Jemmie Robertson is an active musician in the Chicago area and teaches at Augustana College in Rock Island, IL. He has performed with Lyric Opera of Chicago, Music of the Baroque, Chicago Chamber Musicians, and many other area ensembles. In 2006, Jemmie completed a DM at Northwestern University. Jemmie also holds degrees from Yale University and the University of Northern Colorado. Jemmie has been a member of the Virginia Symphony and the U.S. Air Force Heritage of America Band, and performed at the 2006 Alessi Seminar in Fossano, Italy. Thomas Joyce
Thomas Joyce is in his fourteenth season as Bass Trombonist of the Charleston (SC) Symphony. Tom graduated the University of Puget Sound (Tacoma, WA) summa cum laude in 1991 with degrees in Mathematics/Physics and Music and then pursued performance studies at the New England Conservatory and Boston University. In addition to his active teaching studio, Tom is a member of Burning River Brass, a professional twelve-piece brass ensemble based in Cleveland. He can be heard on that ensemble's five CDs. Tom spent summer 2005 as a member of the Seattle Opera Orchestra for Wagner's “Der Ring des Nibelungen," and is a founding member of the Charleston Brass.
TUBA
Raúl Rodriguez
Raúl I. Rodríguez is an Associate Professor of Music at Texas State University-San Marcos. His duties include applied music in the area of tuba and euphonium and conductor of the tuba-euphonium ensemble. His performance credits are quite diverse ranging from symphony and pop orchestras to brass quintet, solo recitals and jazz. He is an active member of SouthWest BrassWorks. When he is not performing or teaching, Mr. Rodríguez is involved in research as a reviewer of New Materials for the International Tuba-Euphonium Association Journal. Raúl has performed with the Breckenridge Music Festival Orchestra since 2001.
PIANO
Michael Linville
Michael Linville is the Director of Admissions and Coaching Associate with the New World Symphony in Miami Beach and an adjunct faculty member of the North Carolina School of the Arts. He is a pianist, percussionist, harpist, conductor and arranger and has performed with the San Francisco Symphony, New World Symphony, Honolulu Symphony, Pasadena Symphony and the Florida Philharmonic. He is also Artistic Coordinator of the New World Percussion Consort, an ensemble that performs contemporary chamber music featuring percussion. This is Mr. Linville’s fifteenth summer as a member of the Breckenridge Music Festival Orchestra.
HARP
Megan Stout
Megan Stout is an active soloist, chamber musician and orchestral harpist. She is principal harpist for the Evansville Philharmonic (IN), Owensboro Symphony (KY). She is a regular second harpist and substitute principal with the St Louis Symphony, and substitutes at the Fort Wayne Philharmonic and the Indianapolis Symphony. In her fourth season with the Breckenridge Music Festival this summer, Megan will perform in Offenbach’s The Tales of Hoffman with the Opera Theatre of St Louis. In addition to her private teaching studio, Megan is on faculty at Indiana University Southeast. She received a BM and MM from Indiana University.

Chandler Teague
Principal Timpanist and Percussionist of the Shreveport Symphony, Longview Symphony, Opera East Texas, Chandler was the timpanist of the Classical Music Festival in Eisenstadt, Austria for 13 summers. He has performed with the St. Louis Symphony, touring Broadway shows, has been featured in timpani and percussion concertos, and as hand drum soloist in a performance of Ravi Shankar’s “Concerto #1 for Sitar and Orchestra”. He has performed recitals with his wife, Janis, and his father, and works regularly in a jazz trio. Chandler received the 2008 Music Fellowship Award from the Shreveport Regional Arts Council. In his eighteenth season with the BMF, Teague teaches percussion at Centenary College and Grambling State University.

Drew Lang
Drew Lang performs with the Dallas Symphony, Wind Symphony and Opera orchestras, Fort Worth Symphony and Casa Mañana Musicals. He has commissioned, recorded, and premiered works for marimba, and has performed music for flute and marimba across the United States with his wife, Helen Blackburn. Drew performed Bodine’s “Concerto for Marimba and Band” at the 2008 Percussive Arts Society International Convention in Austin, and this year will perform Bodine’s “Namaste: Concerto for Marimba and Percussion Ensemble” for a 12-university consortium. As a drum set/percussionist he plays in jazz clubs, church services, and symphonic pops, and in the Dallas-based rock band BLIND BARGAIN. Drew is on the faculty at Southern Methodist University.
