Winter Series
Nearly a decade of Winter Series performances have made the Breckenridge Music Festival a year-round presence in Summit County. The series offers concerts throughout the winter season, featuring new musical guests and returning summer artists.
Winter evening performances of a broad variety of chamber music are welcome cultural entertainment additions to the daytime outdoor activities which attract Summit County winter residents and visitors. Chamber music and jazz concerts are presented in intimate venues around the county, including Father Dyer and Lord of the Mountain churches in Breckenridge and Dillon, and in the new performance hall of Colorado Mountain College Summit Campus.
Concerts include favorite pieces from the heart of chamber ensemble literature, as well as fascinating music by lesser-known composers, combinations of musical styles, instrumentalists, vocalists and ensembles large and small.
Most of the artists participating in the Winter Series come to Breckenridge not just to play music (and play on the ski slopes), but also graciously share their knowledge and love of music with school children of the region in workshops and masterclasses for the Music In The School program sponsored by Breckenridge Music Festival and The Summit Foundation.
Concerts are variously sponsored by the Breckenridge Music Festival, or by its fundraising committee, Applause!, in partnership with Colorado Mountain College’s Summit Campus and Center for Excellence in the Arts.
